LADY RAMS FALL IN EXHIBIBITION |

STEPHENVILLE, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team (5-4) suffered a 79-41 loss at Tarleton State University (11-1) in exhibition action on Saturday.
After the Lady Rams started the game with an early 15-14 lead, the TexAnns ripped off 14 unanswered points to take control at 28-15. Tarleton State later closed the first period with a 15-0 run to lead 46-19 at the intermission.
The TexAnns were then able to coast to the 79-41 win. Tarleton State out rebounded Texas Wesleyan 48-28. Texas Wesleyan forced 17 turnovers, but did not take care of the ball themselves as Tarleton State scored 23 points off of 29 Lady Ram turnovers.
Ashley Bringol led the Lady Rams with nine points on 3-of-4 long range shooting. Brittany White and Ashley Davis each scored eight points in the loss.
Brittnie Haley led the TexAnns with a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. JoAnne Jones scored a game-high 19 points.
The Lady Rams will return to action on Thursday, January 7, when they travel to Tyler, TX, to take on Texas College in Red River Athletic Conference action. That game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start. The Lady Rams currently lead the RRAC at 1-0 in conference play. |
