DENTON, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men's cross country team finished fourth at the University of North Texas' Ken Garland Invitational. The Rams, who were the lone non-NCAA Division I team participating, outpaced a squad from TCU.
North Texas took the win with 17 points followed by Louisiana Tech (59), UT-San Antonio (71), Texas Wesleyan (113) and TCU (122).
UNT runners finished 1-3 with Troy Taylor leading the 4-mile run with a time of 19:39.3. Texas Wesleyan's
Isaac Lalang finished fourth with a time of 20:15.6. This broke a string of three consecutive wins for Lalang although his time was yet another school record for the sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya.
Oraine Wint followed Lalang in 21:03.4 finishing 15th.
Brandon Goolsby finished 33rd at 22:39.7 while
Nathan Garcia ran a time of 22:48.0 and placed 35th.
David Swiatocha, in his first competition of the season, placed 38th at 23:24.6, and
Tal Thomas was 39th at 23:43.4.
Michael Vega finished 42nd and
Mackenzie Jameson 44th for the Rams.
