FORT WORTH, TX: The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today the 37 teams and 87 individuals who will compete in its 2014 Women's Cross Country National Championship. Texas Wesleyan will make its fourth consecutive trip to the national championship.
The Lady Rams, who were ranked 25th in the final regular season NAIA Coaches' Poll released on Sunday, earned an at-large bid for the meet. The Lady Rams finished fourth at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship led by top-15 finishes from
Cecilia David (6),
Brenda Felipe (7), and
Maria Aguayo (12).
This season, the Rams have posted two wins and five top-5 finishes in eight events. David was twice named SAC Player of the Week this season.
The Rams have received mention in 20 consecutive editions of the NAIA Coaches' Poll while cracking the top-25 15 times in that span.
The Lady Rams will be joined by
Oraine Wint on the men's side. Wint earned an automatic qualification by finishing 7th at the SAC Championships
The 2014 NAIA Cross Country National Championships will be held at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, KS, on November 22. The women's 5k will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the men's 8K to follow at 11:45 a.m.

- The Lady Rams have improved in each of their appearances at the National Championship finishing 28th in 2011, 24th in 2012, and 21st in 2013.
- The Lady Rams best individual performance at the National Championship was
Brenda Felipe in 2013 who finished 27th of 319 runners with a time of 18:27.
- The men's team qualified for nationals as a team in 2011 and finished 29th. The best individual performance for the men was Andrew Herrera in 2011 who ran a time of 25:46.
