LIVE OAK, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University men's cross country team placed third amongst 15 teams at the 9th Annual UIW Invitational hosted by University of the Incarnate Word at Live Oak City Park on Saturday. The meet was touted as the largest cross country event in the State of Texas this year.
Sophomore
Isaac Lalang led all 171 runners, including both NCAA Division I and non-D1 competition, through the 8K course. Lalang notched his fourth victory of the season and set yet another school record with a time of 24:20.5. That bested Tarleton State's Dylan Willett by 28.6 seconds.
Tarleton State won the non-D1 Division with 48 points. Texas A&M-Kingsville was second with 71 points, while the Rams notched 83 points. Texas A&M Corpus Christi won the Division I division with 34 points, outpacing Texas State, Incarnate Word, Abilene Christian, and UT-Pan American.
Oraine Wint flew through the course in 24:58.9 placing fourth overall.
Nathan Garcia placed 48th with a time of 26:43.0.
Brandon Goolsby ran 26:54.9 to place 55th and
Tal Thomas ran 27:53.0 to place 78th.
Mackenzie Jameson ran 29:39.3 to finish 117th.
