FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of four student-athletes for the 2012 season.
Jessica Castro is a 5’4” defensive specialist out of Floresville, TX. She was a three-year letter winner for Coach Curran at Floresville High School and was an Honorable Mention All-District selection.
Amber Morton is a 5’6” DS out of Princeton, TX where she played volleyball and basketball. For coach Scott Montgomery’s volleyball team she was a two-time 1st-team All-District and Academic All-District selection. She also earned both 1st-team All-District and Academic All-District honors in basketball.
Meredith Monger is a 5’4” libero out of Plano, TX. In her sophomore season at Clark High School, she received the Cougar Hustle Award while serving 92% with 38 aces on the season.
“We are excited to have each of these young ladies join our program,” Clawson commented. “I expect each of them to make positive contributions as we look forward to a great season this fall.”
The 2011 Lady Rams featured six All-Conference selections including three sophomores and two freshmen. The 2012 squad will begin the season at the Texas Wesleyan Lu Allen Invitational in Graham, TX, August 24-25.
