FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s golf coach Kevin Millikan announced today the signing of Jenna Devine, a sophomore transfer student out of Hill College.
The Joshua, TX, native played one season for head coach Ray Roberts at Hill College, where she won the Western State College Tournament.
Devine is a product of Burleson High School where she played for former Ram Matt Dunn. Devine was a four-year letter winner at BHS, helping the Elks to District 3 5A and Bi-District championships in her junior and senior seasons. She was named 1st-team All-District and team MVP in each of those campaigns.
Devine has also been a student of Jon Sinclair at Jon Sinclair’s Golf Training Center at Texas Star for seven years. From 2008-2010, she played in the North Texas Junior PGA, winning and placing in numerous area tournaments.
“Jenna is a great addition for us,” Millikan said. “Her competitive experience and enthusiasm for the game will bring a lot to our program. I am very excited to have her joining the team.”
The Texas Wesleyan Athletic Department announced in early December its expansion to include women’s golf beginning in the 2012-2013 school year. Millikan, who is currently in his sixteenth year of service at Texas Wesleyan, will head the program. Millikan previously served ten seasons as head men’s golf coach and seven seasons as Athletic Director. He also currently serves the department as Director of New Sport Development.
