FORT WORTH, TX: For the third time this season, Texas Wesleyan University’s
Ronnie Moss has been named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Moss received the award for his performance during the dates of January 9-15.
Moss, a senior guard from Fort Worth, TX, posted averages of 29.7 points, 7.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Rams. He turned in a pair of 30-point scoring efforts with 30 in a loss at NAIA #17 Our Lady of the Lake University (TX) and 35 in a win over Huston-Tillotson University (TX). Moss also approached a triple-double with 24 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in a victory at Bacone College (OK). The sixth-ranked Rams are now 7-2 in the RRAC with a 12-3 record on the season.
Moss shared the award with Demetrius Evans of the University of the Southwest (NM). Evans, a senior forward from Chicago, propelled the Mustangs to a 3-0 week with 24.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. His best outing was a 33-point, 10-board effort to defeat Langston University (OK), 100-96. USW evened its conference record at 5-5 with an 8-6 mark overall.
Moss and the Rams will host Evans and the Mustangs on Thursday at the Sid Richardson Center. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
