Bill Franey Named Interim Head Coach for Lady Rams

FORT WORTH, TX: Bill Franey has been named the interim head coach for the Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team. Franey, who joined the coaching staff as assistant coach in 2009, brings more than 35 years of college and high school experience to the program.
 
Since joining the coaching staff two years ago, Franey has helped the team realize a 48-16 record. For the 2010-2011 season, the team went 28-6, an .824 winning percentage. In the three years prior to his arrival, the team had a combined record of 41-51.
 
Before coming to Wesleyan, he coached at the NCAA Division I and II levels and in Europe for the Norwegian Basketball Federation.
 
Franey received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University and his MBA from Southern Methodist University. He replaces Stacy Francis as the team’s head coach.
