Lady Rams Post Solid First Run

WICHITA FALLS, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s cross country team posted a solid finish in their first official race. The Lady Rams finished 6th in the field of 18 teams at Midwestern State University’s Mustang Stampede.
 
Habiba Nourain led the Rams with a time of 16:26. She placed 26th amongst 66 individuals. The Rams placed 6th with 146 points and a total time of 1:29:13.
 
Gecilia Duenas placed 40th at 17:26. Georgina Arzate ran 18:01, Yazmin Hernandez 18:38, Evanay Lopez 18:40, Tabitha Evans 18:41, Nancy Paramo 19:00, and Jisvi Padilla 19:42 to round out the Rams’ evening.
 
“The ladies ran very very well tonight,” commented head coach Natnael Amare. “We are a brand new team, and I am excited about our progress.”
 
The Rams will return to action on September 10, when they travel to College Station, TX, to compete in Texas A&M University’s Invitational meet.
