WICHITA FALLS, TX:  The inaugural Texas Wesleyan University men’s cross country team saw its first official competition on Thursday.  The Rams placed 6th in the field of eight teams at Midwestern State University’s Mustang Stampede.

 

Edwin Ngeno becam the first Wesleyan runner to post a top-10 finish.  Ngeno finished 10th amongst 84 individuals with a 6K time of 19:26.  The Rams finished 6th with 132 points and a total time of 1:46:11.

 

Luis Fuentes placed 35th with a time of 20:29.  Martin Garza-Rodriguez ran 21:28, Robert Talavera 21:54, Jeremy Robinson 22:53, and Daveonte Spence 23:53.

 

“The Guys ran very well,” commented head coach Natnael Amare.  “They are really improving and today was special for a new program.”

 

The Rams will return to action on September 10, when they travel to College Station, TX, to compete in Texas A&M University’s Invitational meet.
