Don Rees played men’s basketball at Texas Wesleyan from 1956-1960.  He was a two-time All-Big State Conference selection and an Honorable Mention All-American in 1958-59.  In 1986 he was inducted into the Texas Wesleyan University Athletic Hall of Fame.  While at Texas Wesleyan he helped the Rams to three consecutive Big State Conference Championships.  At the time of his graduation, he was the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,710 points.  That record stood for 34 years until it was broken in 1994, and he continues to rank second all-time on the school’s scoring list.  He currently holds the school’s single game record with 30 rebounds (vs. Southwestern in 1957-58) and career records with 480 free throws made and 813 free throws attempted.  For his career, he played in 107 games, leading the Rams to 53 wins, and averaged a double-double with 16 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
